It feels like a really long Key & Peele sketch, to be completely honest. This month, they star in Keanu, a caper flick about a kidnapped kitten, co-written by Peele and directed by frequent collaborator Peter Atencio, which will keep exploring some of the issues that Key and Peele, the show, and Key and Peele, the performers, are interested in: universal stuff like race, masculinity, and driving Method Man around in.

Straight up: I cannot believe this is an actual trailer for an actual movie. But so are Key and Peele, and it’s a kick to see them get laughs out of everything gangsta. If that plot sounds familiar, it’s because it’s a not so subtle reference to the Keanu Reeves movie, John Wick, wherein Reeves plays a former assassin who seeks revenge for his murdered dog. You might notice that Keanu doesn’t figure in every scene. After his kitten gets kidnapped–or is it kitnapped–he goes on a bloody search with his buddy, played by Keegan-Michael Key. It goes like this: Jordan Peele’s character goes through a breakup and ends up finding comfort in a stray kitten that stumbles onto his porch. When Rells beloved kitten, Keanu, is catnapped, the hopelessly straight-laced pair must impersonate ruthless. I should note up front that Keanu is an adorable kitten.
